fall; a season for hard conversations.

the season Fall represents a time when things are falling.
leaves are falling off of trees and of course, being the mirrors of nature that we are, things are falling out of our lives.
people, jobs, habits (etc.), that no longer serve us are all falling away.
in order not to block this fall we have to be willing and choosing to recognize that not everything needs to be held on to.
we have a culture that has perpetuated the belief that goes something like this “the longer something lasts, the better.”
we have romanticized the notion of forever.
however, we are constantly changing and evolving. which means things will fall away.
and true freedom lies in being okay with the cycles of life and death. this is why all religions emphasize the concept of surrender.
when you surrender, you detach.
in the past, people held on to things far longer than they should because it was considered the right thing to do.
it was a noble thing to self-sacrifice. it was also considered selfish to put your self first.
it still is in many places and cultures but more of us are awakening to how destructive this can be.
an empty cup can’t quench anyone’s thirst.
START TO FILL YOUR CUP
this season, a great way to fill your cup is to start having hard conversations with the people already in your life.
take a look at where things feel empty and ask yourself what you need in order to fill your cup first.
you can not give from an empty cup.
i look at this season as a season for hard conversations because it is imperative for us to go into winter (death season) knowing what will come with us and what will stay behind.
when you bring honesty forth, it makes this a lot easier.
get honest about what you need and what you don’t need in your life. and share these things when necessary with whomever you must.
in order for new things to be born, there must be room for them. when we hold on to the things in our life that are meant to pass, we are stagnating our own energy. we are saying that we don’t trust life and in return, we end up feeling stuck.
stuck energy doesn’t produce. and energy that doesn’t produce doesn’t keep you in the same place… it actually ends up ruining you.
you are either going up in life or you are going down. there is no such thing as a constant steady static medium place.
things are always moving.
energy is always moving.
and if you want it to move with you and not against you, then don’t go against life when it asks you to move on.
choose to let go of things with ease. let it be easy for you. observe nature as guidance and see how easily leaves fall off trees. the trees don’t hold on. they let them go because they know that new ones will grow.
and the same goes for you. the new will grow.
whatever is falling from your life right now, remember that you are a reflection of mother nature. you are not alone in this process.
it is better to live a life of surrender than a life of stagnation.
have the hard conversations. fill your cup. let it be easy.
