"too good to be true" ... are you blocking your own blessings?

they say faith is when it looks like everything is going against you but believing it is all working in your favor.
this is not an easy thing to do, especially because we have minds that worry. minds that have been trained to incessantly think of what is happening next. minds that have never taken a break. minds that have a negativity bias (instead of looking for the positive in a situation, they find the negative). minds that are overly skeptical.
but where there is no trust, there can be no faith.
do you know how often we block our blessings because we are so programmed not to believe in miracles? daily.
i met a lady today. and she told me how she had this opportunity that she would connect me with after we chatted for a while. as soon as she left i was bombarded with thoughts of, what is in it for her? this can’t be a real thing. etc. and then it dawned on me... what if this is me blocking a blessing?
i mean, the least i can do is see what the opportunity entails. but there is a huge part of me that wants to sabotage before i even know what it is.
it is actually kind of hilarious. here i am, a fond believer that the universe is always working in my favor. yet, sometimes i catch myself still doubting.
let me say this, too good to be true, is a state of mind and most of us were programmed with this exact way of thinking.
"Nothing comes easy"
"You have to work hard to get what you want"
"Things don’t just fall into your lap"
"Money doesn’t grow on trees"
"If it sounds too good to be true, it is."
these are messages we all heard growing up. many of us still hear these phrases being thrown around.
it is no wonder that we have such a difficult time trusting.
but the truth is, we get to choose what is true for us. it is the most paradoxical thing ever. the truth is whatever you choose the truth to be. even though the universal Truth says “you are love” you can choose not to believe that and your reality will reflect whatever you choose to believe.
and so, for those of us who want to get out the trap, it is beyond crucial that we catch on to these beliefs that don’t serve us. and we need to turn that shit around quick. whenever you catch yourself thinking something is too good to be true, just affirm to yourself that “God is bringing miracles to me and i am willing and open to receive.”
this way you don’t block your blessings. even if that is what your conditioned mind wants to do.
how does lack of faith and trust get in the way of your blessings? are there opportunities you are afraid of pursuing because “it just sounds too good to be true” ?
